Senior Clinical Bioinformatics Data Scientist – Remote USA

Job Summary:
IQVIA is hiring a Senior Clinical Bioinformatics Data Scientist to support biomarker and translational research using real-world data. This home-based role focuses on complex analyses of clinic-genomic and observational datasets across oncology, virology, and immunology. Ideal for professionals with a bioinformatics background and strong programming skills in SAS, R, Python, and Shell.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex analyses using real-world observational and clinico-genomic datasets (e.g., TCGA, Tempus).

  • Develop study protocols and statistical analysis plans.

  • Collaborate with biomarker scientists and cross-functional teams.

  • Communicate findings via presentations, abstracts, and peer-reviewed publications.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, data science, or related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with 5–7 years of experience.

  • Experience in observational studies and multi-omics database analysis.

  • Proficient in SAS, R, Python, and Shell scripting.

  • Familiarity with bioinformatics pipelines and tools.

  • Understanding of statistical methods including multivariate analysis.

  • Exposure to cloud computing environments.

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques for data mining is a plus.

  • Familiarity with databases such as TCGA and Tempus.

  • Experience with healthcare data such as EHRs and claims data is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of immuno-oncology, survival analysis, and treatment outcomes.
