Job Overview
The Senior Chemist – GCMS is responsible for performing advanced instrumental analysis of pesticide residues in food and feed samples using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS techniques. This role involves method validation, equipment calibration, laboratory quality compliance, and maintenance of analytical standards to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.

This position is suitable for experienced analytical chemistry professionals seeking to work in regulated laboratory environments with advanced instrumentation and quality-driven processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pesticide residue analysis in food and feed samples using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS systems.

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation.

  • Conduct instrument calibration and performance verification to ensure accurate analytical results.

  • Perform method validation in accordance with laboratory and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain reference standards and prepare standard stock and working solutions.

  • Record and maintain environmental monitoring data including temperature and humidity logs.

  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment such as micropipettes and analytical balances.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality systems, safety standards, and documentation procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline (B.Sc or M.Sc Chemistry).

  • 4–6 years of experience in food testing laboratories or analytical chemistry environments.

  • Strong expertise in instrumental analytical techniques and pesticide residue analysis.

  • Proven experience in handling GC-MS/MS systems and performing method validation.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of instrumental chemistry and laboratory testing procedures.

  • Experience with analytical instrumentation maintenance and calibration.

  • Good understanding of laboratory quality standards and documentation practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple laboratory tasks simultaneously.
