Job Overview

Novartis is hiring a Senior Associate – Scientific Writing to support the creation, update, and optimization of scientifically accurate and compliant promotional and medico-marketing content. This role is ideal for an experienced scientific writer with strong exposure to commercial content development, label integration, and regulatory compliance in a global pharmaceutical environment.

The position sits within Studio Operations and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams across India, the United States, Ireland, and Mexico, ensuring high-quality content delivery aligned with Novartis brand strategies and Medical–Legal–Regulatory (MLR) standards.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Promotional Content Development

  • Create and update scientifically accurate, engaging, and compliant promotional materials, including brochures, iCVAs, RTEs, emails, banners, digital campaigns, social media content, websites, and print assets

  • Ensure all content reflects the latest Important Safety Information (ISI), Prescribing Information (PI), and reference documents

  • Align messaging with approved brand strategy, positioning, and campaign objectives

Label Management & Compliance

  • Monitor label updates and implement timely revisions across all promotional and commercial assets

  • Ensure full compliance with MLR guidelines, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements

  • Develop and maintain label update checklists to ensure consistency and traceability

Omnichannel & Modular Content Support

  • Support omnichannel content planning by adapting and repurposing scientific content across multiple formats and platforms

  • Contribute to the development of modular content frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability

  • Support localization and adaptation of global content for regional use

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner with editorial, creative, regulatory, scientific, and digital teams to ensure efficient workflows

  • Mentor and guide junior writers on commercial writing best practices, compliance standards, and label integration

  • Operate effectively in a metric-driven environment while maintaining high quality and turnaround standards


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years of experience in scientific or medical writing with a strong focus on promotional and commercial content

    • Proven experience handling label updates, promotional review processes, and content planning in a pharmaceutical setting

  • Technical & Domain Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of promotional scientific communications, clinical data interpretation, and pharmaceutical regulations

    • Familiarity with promotional content review systems, MLR workflows, and industry codes

    • Exposure to global content localization and omnichannel marketing strategies

  • Core Skills:

    • Commercial and medical writing

    • Omnichannel and digital marketing content development

    • Analytical thinking and attention to detail

    • Stakeholder collaboration in a matrix organization

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
