The Senior Assistant will contribute to Process R&D, Custom Synthesis, Scale-Up, and Pilot Plant operations. The role involves managing Kilo Lab production, process improvements, troubleshooting, and chemical synthesis with a strong emphasis on organic chemistry.
Conduct Process R&D, Custom Synthesis, and Scale-Up activities.
Manage Kilo Lab production and pilot plant operations.
Perform characterization using analytical techniques: IR, NMR, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry.
Plan and schedule products and processes effectively.
Drive process improvements and troubleshoot technical issues.
Independently handle reactions in shifts, including pyrophoric and moisture-sensitive reagents at 20L scale.
Handle reactions from 1L to 50L scale including workup, purification, and product characterization.
Apply expertise in purification techniques such as:
High vacuum distillation
Recrystallization
Column chromatography
Support process development and scale-up to pilot plant.
Facilitate tech transfer of processes to the pilot plant.
Ensure adherence to chemical industry safety standards.
M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry
3 to 6 years in Process R&D, Custom Synthesis, Scale-Up, and Pilot Plant environments.
Strong understanding of:
Organic synthesis
Reaction mechanisms
Stereochemistry
Asymmetric synthesis
Experience handling 1L to 50L scale reactions with analytical characterization using:
NMR, IR, GC, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, Elemental Analysis
Proven ability to handle pyrophoric and moisture-sensitive reactions at 20L scale.
Independent shift handling capabilities.
Expertise in purification techniques (vacuum distillation, recrystallization, chromatography).
Knowledge of process development and scale-up.
Familiarity with tech transfer protocols.
Sound knowledge of chemical industry safety standards.
