About the Team: Cell Culture Module

The Cell Culture Team is a core component of Thermo Fisher’s Research and Development division.
This team focuses on:

  • Supplying biological samples for the development and validation of recombinant antibodies.

  • Developing knockout cell models to confirm antibody specificity and performance.

  • Enhancing the company’s portfolio through innovative cell biology and molecular research.


Role Purpose

To design, develop, and validate cell culture processes, materials, and supplies that strengthen product innovation and enhance research outcomes.
The Scientist II will independently conduct cell culture experiments and contribute to antibody validation workflows through advanced biological models.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aseptic culture and maintenance of immortalized and primary mammalian cell lines.

  • Handle stem cells and conduct various differentiation procedures.

  • Perform transfection and transduction experiments.

  • Conduct routine microscopy, gene expression analysis, Western blot, ELISA, and other relevant assays.

  • Design, plan, and execute independent research related to cell culture development.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and electronic records of experimental parameters and results.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reproducibility across all projects.

  • Prepare publication-quality figures, images, and scientific documents.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior scientists as needed.

  • Deliver high-quality, on-time results supporting ongoing and new product development.


Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences, OR

  • Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field with 5–6 years of research experience.

  • Strong academic and practical foundation in cell biology, physiology, and tissue development.

Technical Expertise

  • Expertise in cell culture of multiple mammalian cell types.

  • Proven experience in primary and/or stem cell handling and differentiation.

  • Proficiency in transfection and transduction techniques.

  • Familiarity with protein biology, molecular biology, or related scientific domains.

  • Strong documentation and scientific writing skills — prior peer-reviewed publications are highly desirable.

  • Capable of working independently and demonstrating scientific judgment in experiment planning and execution.

Behavioral Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to experimental standards.

  • Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities.

  • Creative problem solver with an eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
