Job Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Antibody Team is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II to join the Protein Biology division in Bangalore. This role focuses on validating antibodies for reproducibility and specificity using advanced techniques across multiple immunoassay applications. Ideal for scientists with strong experimental backgrounds in cell/molecular biology, protein assays, and antibody validation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and execute experiments to support antibody validation and development.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed records in lab notebooks and data sheets.

  • Continuously review scientific literature to remain updated on current trends in antibody validation and protein biology.

  • Analyze and present experimental data to stakeholders and team leads.

  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance in the laboratory.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and improve validation outcomes.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience, OR

  • PhD with 2+ years of experience
    in cell/molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, or biochemistry

Experience:

  • Proven experience in protein assay development and validation

  • Strong background in immunoassay techniques:

    • Western blot

    • Immunocytochemistry (ICC)

    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

    • ELISA

    • ChIP

    • Flow cytometry

  • Proficiency with protein characterization techniques including:

    • Lysate preparation

    • Cell treatments

    • Sub-cellular fractionation

    • Microscopy

  • Knowledge or experience in antibody development platforms (desirable)

  • Record of scientific contributions through publications, reports, or thesis work


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and data presentation skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex scientific problems

  • Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced R&D environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office and GraphPad Prism or similar statistical tools
