Job Description

Overview:

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Antibody Team is seeking a Scientist II to join its Protein Biology division in Bangalore. The position focuses on high-quality antibody development through advanced molecular, protein, and cell biology techniques. The role will contribute to next-generation reagent design and development, with a strong emphasis on innovation, structural biology, and specificity testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and execute experiments related to antibody and protein development.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of results and workflows.

  • Stay current on industry trends and literature relevant to protein/antibody engineering.

  • Present findings to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Mentor junior scientists and provide technical supervision within the lab.

  • Support process optimization and technology improvements.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • PhD in Life Sciences, Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Biotechnology with 2+ years experience
    OR

  • Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in relevant scientific fields


Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in protein purification (affinity, ion exchange, SEC, HPLC) and SDS-PAGE.

  • Experience with protein-protein interaction assays (e.g., co-immunoprecipitation).

  • Hands-on experience in display-based antibody development.

  • Skilled in rational design, mutant generation, and molecular cloning.

  • Familiar with structural biology tools (e.g., PyMOL, Schrödinger, Discovery Studio).

  • Knowledge of antigen/epitope design and antibody conjugation techniques.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and statistical tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism).

  • Familiarity with immunoassay development platforms and antibody screening workflows.
