About the Team: Protein Biology

The Protein Biology team focuses on large-scale functional validation of antibodies with an emphasis on reagent quality and specificity.

Core activities include:

  • Western blotting using advanced platforms

  • Immunofluorescence (IF) imaging and Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

  • Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and gene-silencing assays

  • Data mining, analysis, and report generation

The team’s goal is to produce high-quality antibody validation data and product information to support scientific research and product differentiation.


Role Overview

The Scientist I – Protein Biology will contribute to antibody validation workflows, focusing on reproducibility, scientific rigor, and innovative techniques for data generation. The role requires a strong foundation in protein biology, molecular methods, and immunoassays, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Experimental Design & Execution

  • Plan and execute experiments for antibody validation and characterization.

  • Maintain meticulous record keeping in laboratory notebooks and data sheets.

  • Ensure experiments meet program objectives and timelines.

2. Data Management & Communication

  • Compile, analyze, and present experimental data in written and oral formats.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and data review sessions.

  • Communicate results and troubleshooting insights effectively to peers and supervisors.

3. Research & Continuous Learning

  • Perform regular literature mining to stay current with developments in antibody validation and protein biology.

  • Integrate new methodologies and technologies into ongoing workflows.

4. Quality & Collaboration

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strict adherence to lab safety and quality protocols.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.


Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology with 2–5 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Ph.D. in the same or related field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong foundation in cell and molecular biology workflows.

  • Proven experience in protein-protein interaction studies (e.g., co-immunoprecipitation).

  • Hands-on expertise in:

    • Western Blotting

    • Immunofluorescence (IF)

    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

    • Flow Cytometry

    • ELISA / Immunoassays

  • Knowledge of protein assay design and development.

  • Ability to communicate scientific data and perform technical troubleshooting.

  • Basic understanding of computational biology tools, databases, and programming languages.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative, scientific curiosity, and team collaboration.

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
