Job Overview

Amgen is hiring a Scientist – Biomarker Analysis to support translational and clinical biomarker analytics across its global drug development programs.

This role focuses on analyzing complex clinical and biological datasets, integrating multi-omics and clinical metadata, and generating insights that support precision medicine strategies, clinical trial decision-making, and drug development programs.


Key Responsibilities

1. Biomarker & Translational Analysis

  • Design and execute biomarker analyses to support clinical development programs.

  • Perform analyses related to target engagement, pharmacodynamic modeling, patient stratification, and mechanism of action validation.

  • Support benefit–risk assessments and indication selection for clinical programs.

2. Multi-Omics Data Integration

  • Analyze complex datasets including:

    • Genomics and transcriptomics

    • Proteomics and metabolomics

    • Epigenomics and spatial omics

    • Imaging and clinical metadata

  • Develop analytical workflows for multi-modal clinical data integration.

3. Advanced Statistical & Computational Analysis

  • Apply statistical models such as regression, mixed-effects models, multivariate methods, and predictive biomarker modeling.

  • Translate biological and clinical questions into quantitative analysis frameworks.

  • Perform data mining, visualization, and knowledge discovery across multiple datasets.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with biologists, clinicians, assay scientists, and data engineers.

  • Integrate internal clinical trial data with external datasets and public omics resources.

  • Present analytical insights through reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

5. AI & Data Innovation

  • Utilize machine learning and AI methodologies to enhance biomarker discovery and analysis.

  • Apply data-driven approaches to accelerate translational research and drug development.


Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong background in biomarker analytics and translational research

  • Experience analyzing large-scale biological and clinical datasets

  • Proficiency in R and Python for scientific computing and statistical modeling

  • Familiarity with multi-omics data analysis and integration techniques

  • Experience with version control tools such as Git/GitLab

Statistical & Data Science Skills

  • Expertise in regression models, mixed-effects modeling, and multivariate analysis

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to biomedical datasets

  • Experience with clinical biomarker data platforms


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting drug development programs in biotech or pharmaceutical companies

  • Knowledge of clinical biomarker technologies, including:

    • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)

    • Flow cytometry

    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

    • Imaging and transcriptional profiling

  • Evidence of scientific contributions through peer-reviewed publications

  • Familiarity with assay development and validation for clinical trials
