Role Overview
The Scientific Editor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of pharmaceutical promotional and disease education materials. This role involves meticulous editing, proofreading, and content verification across multiple channels, including print, digital, and promotional collateral. The Scientific Editor will maintain adherence to style guides, regulatory requirements, and brand standards, ensuring all materials meet the highest quality standards for global healthcare audiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Copyedit marketing, medical, and educational materials in accordance with AMA style, brand style guides, and internal SOPs.

  • Correct errors in spelling, punctuation, trademarks, ISI, part numbers, dates, and formatting across all content stages.

  • Implement and verify reviewer comments while ensuring no additional errors are introduced.

  • Maintain and manage an editorial style guide for consistent quality across all materials.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to confirm approval status for print and digital content.

  • Ensure final content compliance with Veeva-approved copy and regulatory requirements.

  • Proofread materials to maintain scientific accuracy and clarity.

  • Collaborate with PRC specialists for any unresolved or complex editorial issues.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related discipline.

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in proofreading, editing, or scientific content development in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with proficiency in US and UK English.

  • Familiarity with AMA Manual of Style, Chicago Manual of Style, and other editorial standards.

  • Solid understanding of medical and scientific terminologies and pharmaceutical promotional content.


Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical content.

  • Ability to maintain consistency in editorial standards across global projects.

  • Experience working with content management systems like Veeva Vault or similar platforms is an advantage.
