Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician (Nights) to support Early Phase Clinical Research operations at our Dallas clinical research unit. This position is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to transition into clinical research while utilizing their patient care and technical skills in a fast-paced, protocol-driven environment.

The selected candidate will work directly with healthy volunteer participants during Phase I clinical trials, assisting with clinical procedures, sample collection, patient monitoring, and protocol execution to support the safe development of new drugs and therapies.

This is a full-time overnight position that includes night shifts and weekend availability.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year of related healthcare, laboratory, clinical, or research experience

  • Phlebotomy experience required

  • Experience in direct patient care, specimen collection, or clinical support preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact directly with clinical trial participants in an early-phase research setting

  • Perform vital sign assessments including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and weight measurements

  • Conduct venipuncture and blood sample collection according to protocol requirements

  • Prepare and accurately record ECGs and Holter monitor readings

  • Collect, process, and distribute biological samples as required by study protocols

  • Monitor participant meals to ensure dietary compliance during studies

  • Assist in preparing clinical rooms and medical equipment for research procedures

  • Support participant screening and enrollment procedures

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical research environment

  • Ensure strict adherence to study protocols and timelines

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support research operations

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

  • Phlebotomy experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • EMT, CMA, or CNA certification preferred

  • Prior healthcare assistant, nursing assistant, or medical technician experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Overnight and weekend shift schedule required

  • Exposure to biological fluids and clinical/laboratory materials

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required including gloves, eyewear, and protective garments

  • Occasional domestic travel/site visits may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or remain stationary for 6–8 hours daily

  • Frequent hand and wrist movement for equipment and computer use

  • Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, and stooping

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15–20 lbs

  • Consistent attendance and schedule flexibility required
