Position Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Research Scientist specializing in health economic modelling and simulation at Evidera. In this role, you will lead and manage advanced health economic modelling projects, oversee client interactions, and contribute to the scientific innovation behind cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses for healthcare interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Serve as the independent project lead and principal investigator for multiple health economic modelling projects, ensuring the scientific rigor and integrity of the work.
  • Model Design & Implementation: Conceptualize, design, and implement health economic models, including cost-effectiveness analyses, discrete event simulations, and decision-analytic models.
  • Client Interaction & Business Development: Lead client interactions in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, develop and maintain relationships, and drive business development efforts. Prepare proposals and manage the proposal writing process.
  • Scientific Oversight: Oversee study design, statistical analysis, and model protocols. Ensure project deliverables are valid and reliable, and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Mentorship & Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff and other principal investigators. Guide non-billable activities, such as proposal conceptualization, and contribute to the identification of new business opportunities.
  • Sales & Proposal Management: Take responsibility for sales targets, client relationship building, and business development initiatives, helping to bring in new projects.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of direct experience in health economics, model development, and consulting within the healthcare sector.
  • Business Development: Proven experience in business development, particularly with existing clients.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel modelling; proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience in the development of models suitable for submission to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) groups and reimbursement decisions.

  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients and lead global, cross-functional project teams.
  • Organizational & Mentoring Skills: Strong organizational abilities and leadership skills, with experience in managing teams, staff development, and fostering client relationships.
  • Global Project Management: Experience managing complex global projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel internationally as required for client meetings and project oversight.
