About the Role

Fortrea, a global leader in clinical research, is hiring Research Nurses (RNs or LPNs) and certified Paramedics to support its Early Phase Clinical Research Unit in Madison, WI. In this role, you'll provide hands-on care to healthy volunteer participants and gain valuable experience with a wide variety of clinical research studies including:

  • First-in-human trials

  • Food effect studies

  • Drug-to-drug interaction trials

  • Ascending dose studies

This is an excellent opportunity to build or grow a career in clinical research nursing, where your care directly supports the development of future medical treatments.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Participant Care

  • Take and record vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, weight

  • Perform venipuncture and collect biological samples

  • Administer and record ECGs/Holters

  • Monitor participant dietary compliance during meals

  • Assist with participant screening procedures

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment in clinic

Study & Equipment Support

  • Prepare medical rooms and equipment for study procedures

  • Adhere to study protocols and documentation requirements

  • Support study teams with sample collection, data entry, and participant monitoring

General Duties

  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced research environment

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors


Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Certifications

  • EMT, Phlebotomy, CNA, or CMA certification preferred

  • Paramedics must be certified

Experience

  • 0 – 1 year of clinical, nursing, or research-related experience
