🎯 Job Overview:

Fortrea is seeking a Research Nurse to lead and support Clinical Pharmacology start-up teams in initiating Early Phase clinical trials. This role provides direct participant care, assists in study execution, and ensures protocol compliance, participant safety, and data integrity.

This is a full-time, rotating shift schedule, office/clinic-based position.


🌟 Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Clinical Care & Participant Management

  • Provide high standard of care for participants using nursing diagnosis, assessment skills, and clinical judgment.

  • Respond to emergency situations based on nursing standards.

  • Observe participant general well-being and identify potential adverse events.

  • Document adverse events and take appropriate action.

  • Obtain and maintain Informed Consent, educate participants, and explain study procedures.

  • Administer investigational compounds (including parenteral) per protocol and regulations.

  • Perform study-related activities: cannulation, telemetry, Holters, vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture.

  • Collect and process biological samples according to protocol and SOPs.

  • Record and transcribe data accurately onto Case Report Forms.

🔹 Other Duties

  • Assist with preparation of rooms and medical equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient study environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


🎓 Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate’s or BS degree in Nursing with current state licensure.

  • CPR/AED certified; ACLS preferred.

  • 2–3 years of nursing experience.

  • Fortrea may consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work in laboratory and/or clinical settings with exposure to electrical office equipment.

  • Occasional travel to site locations.

  • Exposure to biological fluids; PPE required (eyewear, garments, gloves).

  • Frequently stationary 10–12 hours/day.

  • Repetitive hand movements, occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting.

  • Ability to use in-house and off-the-shelf computer software.

  • Light to moderate lifting 15–20 lbs.

  • Regular attendance and ability to work varied hours.
