Role Summary

The Research Investigator – Digital Pathology is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing computational image analysis solutions for digital pathology applications. The role involves designing image analysis algorithms, developing deep learning models, analyzing histopathology data, and generating biologically meaningful insights to support translational research and drug discovery programs.

This position works closely with pathologists, translational scientists, bioinformaticians, and multidisciplinary research teams to support biomarker discovery, disease characterization, and preclinical research through advanced image analytics and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Pathology & Image Analysis

  • Develop and optimize image analysis algorithms for digital pathology applications.

  • Perform quantification of:

    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Staining

    • Biomarker Expression

    • Tumor vs Stroma Classification

    • Cellular Feature Extraction

  • Design robust image analysis workflows for pathology datasets.

Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning

  • Develop and deploy:

    • Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)

    • Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN)

    • Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN)

    • Transformer-Based Models

  • Support:

    • Image Classification

    • Object Detection

    • Tissue Segmentation

    • Feature Extraction

  • Evaluate model performance and optimize prediction accuracy.

Programming & Computational Analysis

  • Develop analytical workflows using:

    • Python

    • R

    • MATLAB

  • Support image processing and data analysis pipelines.

  • Automate computational workflows for large-scale pathology datasets.

Statistical Analysis & Data Visualization

  • Perform statistical analyses on image-derived datasets.

  • Generate insights using:

    • Power BI

    • Python

    • R

    • MATLAB

  • Create visual reports and dashboards for scientific interpretation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Document:

    • Algorithms

    • Methodologies

    • Validation Results

    • Scientific Findings

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality and documentation standards.

  • Prepare technical reports and project summaries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:

    • Pathologists

    • Translational Scientists
