Job Summary

ICON plc is seeking a Research Assistant (Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant) to join its Early Phase Services team in San Antonio, Texas. This is a PRN/on-call role ideal for certified allied health professionals looking to work on the frontlines of clinical research. You’ll play a critical role in executing trials and ensuring the integrity of data collection, patient care, and study documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing clinical research protocols and trials

  • Conduct accurate data collection, entry, and management

  • Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, and basic medical procedures as per protocol

  • Maintain regulatory-compliant documentation

  • Collaborate with research staff to meet study timelines and quality standards

  • Support literature reviews and research reporting

  • Prepare study-related reports and presentation materials


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with Medical Assistant or allied health certification

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, EMT, LVN, or Paramedic

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Strong skills in data documentation and regulatory compliance

  • Proficient in clinical data entry and research software

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
