Core Purpose of the Role

The QC Microbiology Analyst will perform microbiological and chemical analysis, environmental monitoring, and laboratory maintenance to support quality assurance in pharmaceutical and biologics operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Microbiological & Chemical Testing:

    • Conduct Bioburden, Microbial Limit Test (MLT), Sterility, Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET), and chemical analysis of water (PW/WFI/POW).

    • Monitor environmental conditions in cleanrooms and utilities in QC Microbiology Laboratory.

  • Method Verification & Validation:

    • Perform method verification for BET, Sterility, Bioburden, and MLT tests.

  • Laboratory Operations & Maintenance:

    • Prepare media, maintain culture stocks, sterilize equipment, perform growth promotion, and dispose of media as per SOPs.

    • Prepare disinfectants and ensure proper cleaning and fumigation of laboratory areas.

    • Monitor temperature, differential pressure, and other laboratory environmental parameters.

  • Sample & Documentation Management:

    • Manage sample receipt, storage, and coordination for smooth sample release.

    • Maintain proper documentation as per regulatory and internal standards.

  • Compliance:

    • Follow EHSS policies, Good Hygiene Practices, and internal SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work as a proactive team member, coordinating with colleagues for efficient laboratory operations.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: M.Sc. in Microbiology

  • Experience: Entry-level, with exposure to microbiology testing of water, OSD products, injectables, and environmental monitoring.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Microbial analysis (Bioburden, MLT, BET, Sterility)

    • Water quality testing (PW/WFI/POW)

    • Environmental monitoring and laboratory hygiene

    • Laboratory equipment and utility monitoring

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory work

  • Proactive self-starter with ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills (spoken, listening, and written)

  • Team player with flexibility to work in shifts
