Proposal Writer Specialist Job Description

Overview
The Proposal Writer Specialist ensures consistent preparation of proposal documents through the business process. Supporting the Business Development Team at the pre-contract phase and throughout ongoing commercial activities, this role focuses on developing and writing scientific and technical content for study proposals. You will collaborate with multiple functional groups to craft customized proposal content tailored to client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Proposal Preparation

    • Participate in proposal launch meetings to understand the scope and plan timelines for complete proposal delivery.
    • Maintain and improve the proposal template to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Manage and update the repository of RFI questions and answers.
  • Content Creation

    • Develop specific proposal content to:
      • Reflect project-specific strategy discussions accurately.
      • Meet Innovaderm’s and client’s expectations.
      • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of text and attachments.
    • Adapt proposals to evolving departmental service offerings.
    • Conduct therapeutic area and indication research to enhance proposal development.
    • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts for added value.
  • Collaboration and Coordination

    • Liaise with external MDs and KOLs when necessary to support proposal development.
    • Coordinate inputs from subject matter experts to meet tight proposal timelines.
  • Editing and Compliance

    • Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, conciseness, and technical accuracy.
    • Ensure all proposal efforts comply with quality standards.
  • Training and Support

    • Support Proposal and Contract Managers (PCMs) with training for drafting proposal text.
    • Take on additional responsibilities as required, provided training and experience align with the task.

Ideal Profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in science.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of successful experience in clinical research within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry.
  • Strong understanding of CRO operations and project management budget elements.
  • Experience with RFPs, RFIs, RFQs is an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills to conduct meetings and manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and composition, with excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to write persuasive narrative materials and error-free, timely proposals.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint applications.
