Principal Clinical Programmer (Rave + Custom Functions) – Syneos Health, Hyderabad [Hybrid]
Job Summary:
Syneos Health is actively hiring a Principal Clinical Programmer with advanced skills in Medidata Rave and Custom Functions for a hybrid role in Hyderabad. This role will lead programming activities across multiple studies or clinical programs, provide oversight and mentorship to junior programmers, and manage clinical data programming workflows using cutting-edge tools. You will also play a key role in system integration, troubleshooting, custom development, and sponsor engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and validate clinical programming deliverables using Medidata Rave and other EDC platforms
Lead end-to-end programming activities and manage multiple concurrent clinical studies
Generate annotated CRFs, edit checks, import/export specs, listings, and custom reports
Lead system integrations, UAT, and technical support for hosted clinical applications
Review and approve study budgets, project scopes, and vendor deliverables
Oversee application vendor SLAs and support escalations and upgrades
Mentor and guide junior programmers and lead programmers within assigned projects
Support sponsor audits, bid defenses, and regulatory compliance activities
Monitor project-level metrics and identify resource needs or timeline risks
Lead cross-functional discussions and collaborate with global teams
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field (Master’s preferred)
Proven experience with end-to-end clinical programming in Rave EDC
Expertise in Custom Functions programming
Prior experience as programming lead on large-scale studies or programs
Proficiency in PL/SQL, SAS, C#, or VB preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work in matrix-based, cross-functional teams
Experience with application validation and regulatory audit processes
Willingness to travel up to 25% if required
