Principal Clinical Programmer – Rave & Custom Functions (Remote, India)
Job Summary
Syneos Health, a global leader in fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions, is seeking a Principal Clinical Programmer with hands-on experience in Rave EDC and Custom Functions. This remote role based in India focuses on leading and supporting multi-study clinical programming tasks in a high-impact, global environment. If you're a programming leader with 8+ years of experience in clinical data systems, this is your opportunity to help accelerate critical therapies to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support development activities for clinical programming projects across multiple concurrent studies.
Act as the subject matter expert for Rave, Oracle OC/RDC, SAS, and related systems.
Design, validate, and maintain clinical databases and custom reports.
Create documentation including annotated CRFs, edit checks, imports/exports, and specifications.
Oversee application integrations, upgrades, and user acceptance testing.
Participate in bid defenses, sponsor audits, and deliverable reviews.
Mentor junior programmers and supervise project resources when applicable.
Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, and application vendors to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
8+ years of hands-on clinical programming experience with Rave EDC.
Strong Custom Functions programming experience is mandatory.
Proven programming leadership across large programs or multiple concurrent studies.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with tools such as SAS, PL/SQL, C#, or VB preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and system validation best practices.
Ability to travel up to 25% (occasionally, if needed).
