Role Overview

The Phlebotomy Training Coordinator is responsible for onboarding, training, coaching, and developing phlebotomy staff across assigned territories. The role focuses on ensuring compliance, maintaining quality standards, improving employee performance, and supporting operational excellence through effective training programs.


Key Responsibilities

Training & Employee Development

  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees.

  • Deliver initial and ongoing phlebotomy training programs.

  • Conduct both group and one-on-one training sessions.

  • Train employees on:

    • Company policies and procedures

    • Departmental SOPs

    • Phlebotomy competencies

    • Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)

  • Develop and implement training resources and educational programs.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials as needed.

Performance & Quality Support

  • Support employee performance improvement initiatives.

  • Assist leadership in achieving quality and service goals.

  • Help create improvement plans for underperforming employees.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource for procedural and compliance-related questions.

  • Maintain accurate training records, logs, and documentation.

Operational Support

  • Assist with workflow during periods of high workload.

  • Provide branch and site support when needed.

  • Travel to client locations and branch offices to conduct training.

  • Research industry trends and best practices when required.

  • Complete additional administrative and operational tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of phlebotomy experience.

  • Experience drawing blood from patients of all age groups.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience training employees.

  • 1+ year leadership or supervisory experience.
