Job Title: Principal SAS Programmer

Educational Qualification:
Graduate/Post Graduate with a life sciences degree
Lead and execute high-complexity SAS programming projects, ensuring the highest quality standards, timely deliverables, and effective team management in collaboration with biostatistics and client teams.
Project Execution & Programming:
Lead and execute programming deliverables on one high-complexity project or at least two moderate complexity studies.
Create and validate Safety and Efficacy Analysis Datasets (SDTM/ADaM) according to CDISC and client-specific standards.
Develop study-specific or general macros and finalize programming specifications/mock-ups.
Adhere to programming specifications, study-specific requirements, and complete required documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues promptly.
Team & Resource Management:
Lead and manage the assigned programming team’s deliverables at study and program level.
Plan, organize, and prioritize workload to ensure effective time management and adherence to timelines.
Communicate proactively with biostatistics teams (including remote teams), senior programmers, management, and sponsors.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing:
Demonstrate a constructive and flexible approach to project delivery, handling changing priorities efficiently.
Actively participate in departmental initiatives, including knowledge sharing, literature reviews, and process improvements.
Participate in the review and approval of programming procedures and techniques.
Attend audit meetings with sponsors as required.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Develop and foster client relationships through effective project management and communication.
Keep management informed of project status regarding quality, timelines, and performance issues.
Strong experience in SAS programming.
Subject matter expertise in SDTM and ADaM datasets.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience in developing, debugging, and using standard programs and macros.
Strong people management skills
