Job Overview

athenahealth is seeking an Onsite Training Associate to support client onboarding and training for its athenaNet platform.

The role focuses on delivering onsite and remote training, supporting client “go-live” implementations, and ensuring effective adoption of athenahealth products. It requires strong communication, customer engagement, and the ability to manage extensive travel while working in dynamic client environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Training & Go-Live Support

Facilitate client go-live experience and act as a subject matter expert for athenaNet.

Provide onsite and remote training during implementation phase.

Support mock go-lives and pre-live preparation activities.

Deliver one-on-one and classroom-style training sessions.

  1. Customer Support & Engagement

Guide clients to adopt best practices and optimize workflows.

Provide ongoing coaching and support to healthcare providers.

Build strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.

  1. Training Delivery & Content

Prepare and review training materials.

Execute contracted training engagements and deliverables.

Adapt training methods based on audience needs.

  1. Operational & Travel Management

Manage frequent travel schedules and logistics independently.

Travel across the United States for onsite client engagements.

Handle dynamic schedules and last-minute travel changes.

  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with Coaching and Training Services teams.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support implementation.

Assist other athena staff as a resource during client engagements.

Comfort with extended onsite work and travel schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare training or implementation roles.

Exposure to athenaNet or similar healthcare platforms.

Experience working with hospitals or physician practices.
