Purpose

The Oncology Sales Consultant – Portfolio is responsible for driving clinical demand, education, and sales of Bayer Oncology products (including targeted therapy for NSCLC, VITRAKVI, and NUBEQA) within the assigned geography. This role supports healthcare professionals in community clinics, treatment centers, and hospitals/IDNs while being part of the Area Customer Squad to commercialize all Bayer Oncology products.

Travel Requirement: Up to 50% within the territory. Candidate must be domiciled within the territory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Knowledge & Education

Develop deep understanding of disease states, tumor types, and treatment options.

Educate healthcare professionals on product benefits, balancing efficacy and safety.

2. Communication

Effectively convey the clinical utility of biomarker-driven treatment decisions and companion diagnostics.

Promote adoption of precision oncology solutions.

3. Relationship Building

Cultivate strong connections with key offices and providers.

Actively seek feedback to ensure customer needs are met and expectations exceeded.

4. Customer-Centric Approach

Understand customer goals and priorities.

Tailor messaging and solutions to meet customer needs.

5. Healthcare Environment Navigation

Leverage industry groups and third-party organizations to impact territory goals positively.

6. Data Analysis & Territory Strategy

Review sales and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and obstacles.

Develop 90-day plans to drive desired outcomes.

7. Outcome-Oriented Execution

Execute territory strategy to consistently achieve sales targets.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with diverse teams to co-create innovative solutions for customers.

Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree.

Proven selling skills with ability to influence prescribers.

Track record of consistent sales success.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Analytical and negotiation skills to derive actionable insights from data.

Self-motivated and passionate.

Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Willingness to travel, including overnight trips.

Experience launching new products/indications.

Compliance with customer credentialing and safety standards (vaccinations, training).

Understanding of PHRMA compliance guidelines.

Authenticity in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in biological science or related field.

Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales, or relevant clinical/marketing experience.

Experience selling to academic institutions or large oncology accounts.

Specialty sales experience in competitive landscapes.

Strong clinical knowledge of tumor types (e.g., Lung, Prostate, Sarcoma, Rare Diseases).

Experience in pediatric and adult oncology settings.

Background in Oncology or Precision Medicine.

Experience selling products with companion diagnostics.

Familiarity with diagnostics or genomic testing.

Understanding of buy-and-bill and oral oncology landscapes.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $146,426 – $219,638 (may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications).

Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions.
