Location: Ohio Valley Territory – Pittsburgh, PA; Erie, PA; Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN (Residence-based)

Purpose

The Oncology Sales Consultant – Portfolio is responsible for driving clinical demand, education, and sales of Bayer Oncology products (NSCLC targeted therapies, VITRAKVI, NUBEQA) in assigned geography. The role focuses on healthcare professionals in community clinics, treatment centers, and hospitals/IDNs.

The SC is part of the Area Customer Engagement Squad and supports commercialization and customer engagement across the territory.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Knowledge & Education

Build deep understanding of disease states, tumor types, and treatment options

Educate healthcare professionals on clinical benefits of assigned products while balancing efficacy and safety

Communicate biomarker-driven treatment decisions and companion diagnostics to drive adoption of precision oncology solutions

Relationship Building & Customer Engagement

Cultivate strong relationships with key offices and providers

Seek feedback to ensure customer needs are met and expectations exceeded

Tailor messaging and solutions to customer goals and priorities

Market & Data Analysis

Understand and navigate healthcare environment and industry groups to impact territory goals

Analyze sales, market, and other data to identify trends, opportunities, and obstacles

Develop 90-day plans to drive territory outcomes

Execution & Collaboration

Follow outcome-oriented approach to achieve sales targets

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-create innovative solutions

Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency

Compliance & Ethics

Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations

Apply high ethical standards in day-to-day work

Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree

Proven selling skills with the ability to influence prescribers

Track record of consistent sales success

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Negotiation and analytical skills; ability to derive actionable insights from data

Self-motivated and passionate

Valid driver’s license with a clean record

Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips

Compliance with customer credentialing and safety standards (e.g., vaccinations, training)

Understanding of PHRMA compliance guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in biological science or related field

5+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales, or relevant clinical/marketing experience

Experience selling to academic institutions or large oncology accounts

Specialty sales experience in competitive landscapes

Strong clinical knowledge of tumor types (e.g., Lung, Prostate, Sarcoma, Rare Diseases)

Experience in pediatric and adult oncology settings

Background in Oncology or Precision Medicine

Experience selling products with companion diagnostics

Familiarity with diagnostics or genomic testing

Understanding of buy-and-bill and oral oncology landscapes

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated salary: $146,426 – $219,638

Additional compensation: potential bonus or commission

Salary varies based on location, skills, experience, and certifications
