Position Summary

Fortrea is seeking an On-Call Clinical Research Technician to support the clinical trial process by performing both practical and administrative duties aligned with protocol and regulatory requirements.

This is an on-call position based at our Madison, Wisconsin research clinic—ideal for candidates looking for flexible, part-time work with meaningful impact.


Key Responsibilities

You will use your clinical skills and judgment to provide a high standard of care to participants and ensure protocol adherence throughout each study phase.

Core Duties:

  • Accurately perform and document vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and weight

  • Prepare and record ECGs/Holters

  • Collect and process biological samples per study protocols

  • Ensure proper labeling and distribution of specimens

  • Monitor participants during meals for dietary compliance

  • Assist in room and equipment preparation

  • Support screening procedures as needed

  • Check in/check out study participants

  • Observe and report participants’ general well-being

  • Collaborate with Study Coordinators on FMEA tasks (as requested)

  • Perform other clinical and administrative tasks as assigned


Qualifications

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Science

  • Accepted: Equivalent clinical experience in lieu of formal education

Experience:

  • Preferred: 1–2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Technician

  • Considered: CNA, Medical Technician, or other clinical background

  • Recent graduates or individuals with recent clinical experience are welcome

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • Medical Technician (Med Tech)

Language Requirements:

  • English: Required (Speaking, Reading, Writing)
