Officer – Quality Control (QC)

About the Role

The Officer – Quality Control is responsible for performing in-process and final product testing in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The role ensures that all products meet predefined quality, safety, and regulatory standards before release.

The position operates under strict compliance with:

  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

  • GDP (Good Documentation Practices)

  • 21 CFR Part 210 & 211

  • ICH guidelines

  • Applicable Indian and international regulatory standards


Key Responsibilities

1. Product Testing & Analysis

  • Conduct in-process and final product quality inspections.

  • Test random samples of finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Use measuring devices and laboratory equipment for quality analysis.

  • Follow validated testing methods and procedures.


2. Result Evaluation & Decision Making

  • Interpret analytical results for accuracy and precision.

  • Compare results against predefined quality specifications.

  • Approve or reject products based on test outcomes.


3. Deviation & Issue Management

  • Identify and document manufacturing deviations and product defects.

  • Report quality issues to relevant stakeholders.

  • Escalate potential risks to prevent production problems.


4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain complete and accurate testing records.

  • Ensure documentation compliance with GDP and GMP standards.

  • Support regulatory and internal audit requirements.


5. Quality Improvement Activities

  • Suggest improvements to testing methods and quality systems.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).


Educational Qualifications

  • B.Pharm – Required

  • M.Pharm – Preferred


Experience Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in Quality Control / Pharmaceutical Testing.


Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical testing methods.

  • Understanding of analytical instruments and measuring equipment.

  • Familiarity with GMP, GDP, and regulatory guidelines.


Analytical Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to interpret scientific and analytical data.

  • Strong decision-making ability for product acceptance/rejection.


Compliance & Documentation

  • Experience with regulated documentation systems.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and audit-ready records.
