Job Overview:
The Observability Integration Specialist is a key technical role within the AIOps Center of Excellence (COE). This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing integrations between observability and AIOps platforms with IT service management and automation systems. The primary objective is to accelerate incident resolution, enhance operational resilience, and automate repetitive IT workflows to maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration Development & Automation:

  • Design, code, and maintain integration scripts and APIs connecting observability/AIOps platforms (e.g., Splunk ITSI) with monitoring tools, ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management), and automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Rundeck).

  • Develop automated remediation workflows and playbooks to address high-priority operational incidents.

  • Configure AIOps trigger logic to automatically initiate playbooks based on correlated events or root cause detection.

  • Ensure seamless connectivity between monitoring elements, service management platforms, and automation tools for secure, high-performance data exchange.

Operational Excellence & Performance Optimization:

  • Reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) by maximizing automated incident response effectiveness and speed.

  • Monitor and optimize integration performance, ensuring reliability and scalability.

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integrations, APIs, and automated workflows.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the technical expert for new platform integrations and observability initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT Operations, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Service Management to drive continuous improvement.

  • Support adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and automation-driven operational models.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in IT Operations, DevOps, or Platform Engineering with a focus on system integration and automation.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or equivalent.

  • Strong experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and messaging/queuing mechanisms for system integration.

  • Hands-on experience integrating ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) for incident management.

  • Practical experience with automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Rundeck, Terraform).

  • Understanding of observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces) and their translation into actionable events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AIOps platforms (Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace) for event correlation, alert routing, and automated response.

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks and automation best practices.
