Role Overview

The Manager – Scientific Writing will support high-quality scientific communication projects, including abstracts, posters, congress presentations, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. The role involves translating complex clinical and scientific data into clear, accessible content for healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients, and other stakeholders.

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for candidates who are motivated to learn, develop scientific writing skills, and grow in the pharmaceutical communications field.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Knowledge & Communication

  • Quickly understand therapeutic areas and product strategies to support communication objectives.

  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into content suitable for HCPs, patients, and other audiences.

  • Stay updated with scientific literature to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

Medical Writing & Publication Management

  • Draft scientific communication deliverables such as abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts.

  • Collaborate with Scientific Communication Leads and Therapeutic Area Leads to ensure alignment with global strategies.

  • Maintain version control, document tracking, and transparency for audit readiness.

  • Adapt writing style for diverse audiences including specialists, patients, nurses, caregivers, and other stakeholders.

Collaboration & Review

  • Establish relationships with authors, clinical investigators, and external experts to develop high-quality publications.

  • Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Safety, and other teams.

  • Support adaptation of global content for regional or market-specific requirements.

Quality & Compliance

  • Apply Good Publication Practices (GPP) and ICMJE Guidelines in all deliverables.

  • Follow internal SOPs, style guides, and established workflows.

  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure high-quality standards.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in initiatives to enhance content development processes using AI tools, structured content libraries, and digital asset management systems.

  • Support development of derivative content such as field medical affairs materials, congress preparation content, and digital assets.


Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or Master’s in Life Sciences or related field) preferred. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience:

  • Fresher / 0–2 years in medical writing, scientific communication, or related pharmaceutical work.

  • Exposure to clinical data interpretation, scientific literature analysis, or publication development is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Basic understanding of clinical research and scientific publications.

  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
