Position Overview

Novartis is seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Allergy and Dermatology to join its field-based medical affairs team. This remote role supports scientific engagement, clinical education, and medical strategy execution within the Dallas/Fort Worth territory. The position requires residency within 50 miles of the assigned region and involves regular travel.

The MSL will act as a trusted scientific expert, engaging healthcare professionals, supporting clinical trial activities, and advancing clinical practice through evidence-based communication. All responsibilities must be aligned with Novartis medical strategy, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scientific relationships with healthcare providers, medical experts, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders across the territory.
• Conduct customer-facing scientific engagements including emerging data discussions, treatment landscape insights, product education, and pipeline updates.
• Gather actionable medical insights that contribute to strategic planning and improve patient outcomes.
• Drive scientific exchange related to disease understanding, patient journey challenges, unmet medical needs, and evolving therapeutic approaches.
• Support company-sponsored clinical trials, including site identification, feasibility assessment, recruitment support, protocol discussions, and collaboration with Clinical Operations.
• Partner internally with cross-functional teams such as HEOR, Market Access, Commercial, and Medical Affairs to deliver aligned scientific initiatives.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of the therapeutic area, treatment guidelines, and Novartis portfolio to serve as a medical resource.
• Develop strategic territory plans, map key accounts, and identify opportunities for collaboration with academic centers, centers of excellence, and integrated healthcare systems.
• Identify medical experts who can contribute to scientific activities such as publications, presentations, and clinical trial participation.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum 3 years in a field-medical role within the pharmaceutical industry (MSL preferred)
OR
Minimum 5 years in medical affairs, clinical research, pharmacotherapy, or a scientific/clinical setting.
• Prior experience in Allergy, Immunology, or Dermatology is preferred.
• Strong understanding of FDA guidelines, clinical research processes, treatment pathways, and healthcare systems.
• Proven ability to collaborate with medical experts, large group practices, medical directors, and pharmacy directors.
• Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and scientific engagement skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to operate independently, prioritize workloads, and adapt to evolving medical and market environments.
• Ability to collect medical insights and identify scientific opportunities aligned with Novartis objectives.

Education Requirements

• Graduate degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline required.
Doctoral degree preferred: MD, PhD, or PharmD.

Compensation and Benefits

• Expected annual salary range: USD 145,600 – 270,400 (subject to experience, geographic factors, and market conditions).
• Compensation package may include sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, comprehensive medical benefits, retirement plan (including 401(k) eligibility), and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, parental leave).
• Employment is at-will, and compensation programs may be adjusted based on performance and market factors.
