About the Role

NTT DATA is hiring a Medical Records Coding & Transcription Analyst for its healthcare operations team in Coimbatore. This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals with expertise in Medical Coding, EM Outpatient Coding, Multispecialty Coding, Clinical Documentation Review, and Healthcare BPO Operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning standardized medical codes, identifying documentation deficiencies, and ensuring accurate healthcare documentation and coding compliance.

This opportunity is best suited for candidates with 3+ years of healthcare BPO experience and CPC certification.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Coding & Clinical Documentation Review

  • Review clinical documentation to understand patient diagnoses, procedures, and medical services
  • Transform:
    • Healthcare diagnoses
    • Procedures
    • Medical services
    • Equipment documentation
      into standardized medical alphanumeric codes
  • Assign accurate standard medical codes based on clinical records
  • Ensure documentation consistency across healthcare systems

EM Outpatient & Multispecialty Coding

  • Perform EM Outpatient Coding
  • Handle Multispecialty Medical Coding
  • Assign:
    • Procedure codes
    • Diagnosis codes
    • CPT coding as required
  • Maintain coding accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards

Documentation Quality & SME Support

  • Identify documentation deficiencies and missing clinical information
  • Highlight documentation gaps requiring clarification
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support fresher team members
  • Contribute to coding quality improvement initiatives

Healthcare Operations & Client Support

  • Work within structured healthcare BPO operations
  • Support client documentation and coding requirements
  • Maintain coding turnaround times and quality benchmarks
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams

Educational Qualification

Candidates with backgrounds in the following areas are preferred:

  • Life Sciences
  • Pharmacy
  • Allied Health Sciences
  • Medical Coding
  • Healthcare-related disciplines

Required Experience

Mandatory Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in:
    • Healthcare BPO
    • EM Multispecialty Coding
    • Medical Coding Operations

Mandatory Certification

  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification – Required

Preferred Experience Areas
