Position Summary

As a Medical Information Specialist in the Medical Information Contact Center (MICC), you will serve as a key point of contact to address medical inquiries, handle adverse events (AEs) and product complaints, and support medical writing initiatives for multiple pharmaceutical products and therapeutic areas. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Information Support

  • Respond to inquiries from HCPs, patients, caregivers, payers, and others about pharmaceutical products via phone, email, CRM, chat, etc.

  • Evaluate and interpret scientific literature to provide evidence-based, non-promotional, and balanced medical responses.

  • Identify and intake adverse events and product complaints, ensuring accurate documentation in line with regulatory standards and internal SOPs.

  • Support handling of product quality issues by coordinating with relevant internal departments (e.g., QA, Regulatory Affairs).

  • Maintain therapeutic area knowledge and client-specific product expertise.

  • Ensure high-quality documentation and delivery of exceptional customer service.

Medical Writing & Content Development

  • Create and assist with writing of Medical Information content such as:

    • Scientific Response Documents (SRDs)

    • Custom Response Documents (CRDs)

    • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Collaborate with medical writing teams to draft and update standard responses.

  • Participate in scientific booths at medical congresses as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in on-call rotations as assigned.

  • Support process improvements, training initiatives, and competitor research.

  • Handle miscellaneous projects and assist with other assigned tasks.


Preferred Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Advanced degree in healthcare (e.g., PharmD, MPharm, MBBS, etc.)

  • Pharmacist license preferred

Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry or Medical Information contact center

  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and post-marketing safety reporting

  • Proficient with tools such as Microsoft Office, telephony systems, CRM platforms, and Medical Information databases

  • Ability to:

    • Critically evaluate and summarize scientific data

    • Navigate multiple therapeutic areas (Oncology, Hematology, Rare Diseases, Immunology, etc.)

    • Communicate clearly across written and verbal channels

    • Manage multiple inquiries efficiently and professionally

  • Prior experience with medical inquiry documentation, medical writing, and/or scientific literature review is a plus
