Position Overview

The Medical Conference Strategy Specialist – Ophthalmics will:

  • Lead logistical and tactical project management for US National & Regional congresses.
  • Ensure successful execution of congress planning by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Utilize scientific expertise to identify relevant conference programs for Medical Affairs.
  • Work with Medical Affairs Product Teams to align strategy and engagement at events.
  • Provide operational oversight for conference execution, including booth content and KEE engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Congress & Event Planning

Project management for National & Regional medical congresses.
✅ Collaborate with Medical Affairs Product Teams & MSL Field Directors for planning and execution.
Identify relevant conference sessions based on disease area expertise.
✅ Manage event logistics, including registration, booth content, and KEE engagement plans.
✅ Develop detailed conference itineraries outlining key activities and objectives.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

✅ Work closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Marketing, Sales, and Ethics & Compliance teams.
✅ Facilitate internal team communication to align on conference strategy and objectives.
✅ Ensure appropriate content development and approvals for booth materials.
✅ Coordinate cross-functional budget allocations for conference expenditures.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Execution

✅ Partner with vendors and external stakeholders to manage event logistics.
✅ Communicate conference registration details, status updates, and timelines with internal teams.
✅ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for congress planning.
✅ Support special projects assigned by leadership.


Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Education:

  • Master’s, PhD, or PharmD in a scientific field.

📌 Experience:

  • 6+ years (MS) or 3+ years (PhD, PharmD) in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven project management & congress planning experience.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with internal/external stakeholders.

Salary Range: $153,800 - $205,000 (based on experience)
