About the Role:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Manager, Procurement/Sourcing to oversee sourcing operations for laboratory and industrial chemicals. You’ll play a strategic role in vendor management, procurement planning, and material cost optimization—contributing to our mission of creating a safer, healthier, and cleaner world.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement of solvents, fine chemicals, metal salts, excipients, and agro products

  • Maintain vendor databases and ensure strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers

  • Execute RFI/RFQ processes, lead negotiations, and finalize pricing strategies

  • Identify alternate sourcing options for monopoly products and ensure business continuity

  • Monitor market trends and crude oil price fluctuations to drive procurement efficiency

  • Liaise with clearing agents on custom duties and import/export compliance

  • Ensure timely deliveries without compromising on product quality or company policy

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams for new product development and risk mitigation

  • Draft and manage supplier agreements in coordination with the legal department

  • Maintain procurement records and SOPs for internal and external audits

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams: SCM for planning, Finance for budgeting, QA for approvals

  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours for global collaborations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science preferred; diploma in Materials Management desirable

  • 5–7 years of sourcing and procurement experience in chemical/lab materials industry

  • Solid knowledge of commodity markets, supplier negotiations, and global sourcing practices

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, supplier and contract management platforms

  • Experience with import/export procedures and local procurement tax regulations

  • Proficient in written and verbal English communication

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
