Job Overview
Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Manager I – Record-to-Report (R2R) Operations to support end-to-end accounting processes within the Global Controllership function. Based at the BMS Hyderabad Center of Excellence, this role requires strong expertise in R2R accounting, financial controls, and month-end close operations. The ideal candidate will bring sound technical knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global finance environment.
This position follows a site-by-design model, requiring approximately 50% onsite work.
Key Responsibilities
Record-to-Report (R2R) Operations
Execute R2R period-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, operational reporting, and quality control.
Manage and monitor month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in alignment with the global close calendar.
Prepare scheduled balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal control frameworks.
Collaborate with local market teams and third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Monitor internal customer satisfaction and address issues promptly to maintain service excellence.
Conduct periodic audits, prepare management reports, and support disaster recovery procedures.
Lead and execute ad-hoc initiatives assigned by R2R leadership.
Relationship Management and Teaming
Uphold operational excellence by ensuring adherence to deadlines, accuracy, and quality standards.
Support the broader finance team with clear communication, coordination, and cross-functional alignment.
Risk Management
Identify and articulate material financial risks and opportunities within R2R operations.
Support in designing and executing risk mitigation plans, contingency strategies, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
Experience Requirements
5–7 years of experience for CA/CMA-qualified professionals.
8+ years of experience for non-CA/CMA applicants.
Strong knowledge of R2R processes, financial controls, and organizational accounting practices.
Experience working in shared services, global finance operations, or multinational financial environments preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures.
Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables with accuracy and transparency.
Proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and reconciliation platforms.
