Manager – Global Safety Database (Mumbai, India)

Job Summary:

Abbott is seeking a skilled Manager – Global Safety Database to oversee the maintenance, optimization, and support of its validated pharmacovigilance (PV) IT systems. This pivotal role ensures compliance, data integrity, and efficient system performance across Abbott’s global pharmacovigilance operations. Ideal for professionals with strong ARISg expertise, SQL/Oracle proficiency, and a background in pharmaceutical IT systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide application support for validated global PV IT systems.

  • Serve as liaison between Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV), Abbott IT, and third-party vendors.

  • Lead database optimization, maintenance, and software upgrade projects.

  • Ensure the Global Safety Database (e.g., ARISg) remains in a validated, compliant state.

  • Consult with stakeholders to align business requirements with technology solutions.

  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure process adherence and system reliability.

  • Maintain documentation and communication across teams for project success.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, documentation sciences, or related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with safety database management (preferably ARISg).

  • IT experience within the pharmaceutical industry (mandatory).

  • Solid understanding of pharmacovigilance processes and global regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in SQL, Oracle, Java, XML programming.

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Familiarity with training via ISOtrain curriculum.
