Manager – Data Scientist (AI/ML) – Pfizer – Mumbai (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
Pfizer is hiring a Manager – Data Scientist to drive innovation in drug discovery and development using advanced AI/ML techniques. Based in Mumbai, this hybrid role blends data science, cross-functional leadership, and real-world impact. Ideal for candidates with 8–10 years of experience (or PhD with 3–5 years) in Python/R, ML pipelines, and scientific computing. You’ll collaborate globally, influence decision-making, and apply machine learning to solve complex pharmaceutical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply AI/ML solutions to drug discovery, clinical trials, and operational efficiencies
Translate business problems into data-driven, scalable AI solutions
Lead and manage cross-functional projects and proof-of-concepts
Collaborate with global teams to build innovative tools and pipelines
Evaluate new technologies and propose novel ML approaches
Promote AI/ML best practices across scientific and business teams
Represent the AQDS function in cross-functional collaborations
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Master’s with 8–10 yrs or PhD with 3–5 yrs of experience in Data Science, Comp. Biology, Stats, or similar
Fluency in Python or R for full ML pipeline development
Strong foundation in supervised/unsupervised learning methods
Advanced skills in AI/ML pipeline development from data cleaning to production
Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills
Experience in cross-functional scientific/tech teams
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Agentic AI, LLMs, RAGs, network analysis, or graph neural networks
Knowledge of scalable cloud computing (AWS, Spark, Kubernetes)
MLOps tools, Flask, Shiny, or data visualization frameworks
Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry and life sciences terminology
