Role Overview

ICON is seeking a Manager, Clinical Systems to lead the strategic implementation, optimization, and oversight of clinical systems supporting trial operations and data integrity. The role is pivotal in ensuring that systems enhance efficiency, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality data to support innovative clinical research.

As the Manager, Clinical Systems, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage system performance, and foster a culture of proficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement within your team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical systems, ensuring high-quality data capture, reporting, and usability.

  • Collaborate with clinical operations, data management, and IT teams to define system requirements aligned with trial objectives.

  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular assessments, and identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and compliance improvements.

  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to internal teams to ensure proper system utilization.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and technology partners to facilitate seamless system integration and problem resolution.

  • Ensure clinical systems comply with regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and industry best practices.

  • Support process improvements, technology updates, and innovation initiatives within the clinical systems domain.


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Information Technology, Clinical Research, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience managing clinical systems or related technology within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO sectors.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and clinical data management standards.

  • Proficiency in clinical trial systems and data management tools, including electronic data capture (EDC) systems.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and deliver strategic system solutions across global trials.
