Role Overview

ICON is seeking a highly experienced Manager, Clinical Systems to lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of clinical systems supporting global clinical trials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity, system performance, and regulatory compliance across the clinical development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional clinical, data management, and technology teams to enable efficient trial operations through robust and compliant clinical systems.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Systems Leadership

  • Lead the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of clinical systems supporting clinical trial execution and data reporting

  • Ensure systems align with study objectives, operational requirements, and regulatory expectations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, regulatory, and IT teams to gather system requirements and drive system initiatives

  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology partners

System Performance & Compliance

  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular assessments, and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including GCP, ICH guidelines, and global data protection standards

Training & Stakeholder Enablement

  • Provide system training, guidance, and ongoing support to internal teams

  • Promote best practices, user adoption, and accountability across clinical system users


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Information Technology, Clinical Research, or a related discipline

  • Master’s degree or advanced qualification preferred


Required Experience

  • 7 to 12 years of experience managing clinical systems or clinical technology within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment

  • Proven experience with clinical data management systems and trial support platforms

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, validation standards, and industry best practices
