Job Overview:

The Data Management Team Lead is responsible for resource planning, team supervision, and operational delivery across clinical data management activities such as EDC user management, data entry, and eTMF documentation. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality data delivery, meeting service level agreements (SLAs), and driving process improvements, while also managing team performance and supporting business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Resource & Operations Management:

  • Manage resources based on forecast models to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Oversee activities including:
    • EDC user account management (activation, deactivation, modification)
    • Data entry operations
    • eTMF documentation
    • Decommissioning activities
  • Ensure optimal staff utilization and billability

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate team members
  • Support career development and competency achievement
  • Conduct performance reviews and training plans
  • Manage a team of 10–15 employees

Quality & Compliance:

  • Maintain productivity and quality metrics for global staff
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Global Data Management Plans
    • Quality Management (QM) Plans
    • ICH-GCP guidelines
  • Perform in-process quality control and ensure high-quality deliverables

Process Improvement & Strategy:

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Develop prevention strategies based on metrics and forecasts
  • Support development of global SOPs and standardized processes
  • Drive revenue and operating margin performance

Project & Client Support:

  • Support project teams to achieve client satisfaction
  • Ensure delivery of quality data on-time and within budget
  • Address client feedback and implement action plans
  • Assist Business Development with time and cost estimates

Training & Development:

  • Develop and execute training programs
  • Ensure staff competency and continuous learning
  • Mentor team members on technical and core skills

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in recruitment and onboarding
  • Track and report staff productivity metrics
  • Lead teams in achieving departmental goals and initiatives
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences / Pharmacy / related field
    OR certification in allied health professions

OR (in lieu of degree):

  • Relevant experience in pharmaceutical/lab/data analysis
  • Including clinical data management experience and user account/data entry/eTMF expertise

Experience Required:

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience
  • 2–4 years of supervisory/people management experience
  • Experience in:
    • User Account Management
    • Data Entry operations
    • eTMF documentation
  • Knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Clinical trial processes
    • Productivity and performance metrics
    • CRO industry and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage resources effectively

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of:
    • Resource management systems
