Position Overview

Omega Healthcare is seeking an experienced Lead – Trainer for its medical coding operations team. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing training programs for coding specialists, ensuring high-quality coding standards, operational readiness, and continuous learning.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in medical coding, training delivery, surgery coding, and US healthcare systems, along with excellent communication and coaching capabilities.

This role plays a critical part in onboarding, quality improvement, transition support, and skill development across the coding function.


Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Learning Development

  • Conduct process training programs for medical coding specialists.
  • Deliver structured onboarding and induction training for new hires.
  • Lead educational sessions on:
    • Medical coding concepts
    • Coding process workflows
    • US healthcare systems
    • Industry updates
    • Client-specific coding requirements
  • Conduct refresher and focused training sessions based on quality findings and performance gaps.

Transition & Floor Support

  • Provide floor support during project transitions and ramp-up phases.
  • Ensure coding quality standards are maintained during onboarding and operational transition periods.
  • Support coders in adapting to workflows, client expectations, and process updates.

Quality Improvement & Performance Enhancement

  • Analyze coding errors and quality findings to identify training needs.
  • Design targeted interventions for coding accuracy improvement.
  • Support continuous performance enhancement initiatives.

Knowledge Management

  • Publish monthly healthcare articles, updates, and educational content to improve coder knowledge and domain expertise.
  • Maintain awareness of current medical coding updates, healthcare regulations, and industry best practices.

Training Material Development

  • Create and maintain:
    • Training presentations
    • Learning manuals
    • Handbooks
    • Knowledge resources
    • Training documentation
    • Assessment materials

Client Interaction & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in:
    • Client meetings
    • Knowledge transfer (KT) sessions
    • Process discussions
    • Training-related calls
  • Collaborate with internal operations, quality, and delivery teams.

Compliance & Onboarding Management

  • Ensure timely completion of:
    • Global onboarding compliance training
    • Client-mandated compliance programs
    • Mandatory learning certifications for new hires

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Any Graduate

Certifications (Mandatory)

Candidates must possess at least one valid medical coding certification such as:

  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
  • COC (Certified Outpatient Coder)
  • AHIMA Certification
