Role Summary

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for industrial products and engineering solutions. The role involves collaborating with engineering, product management, service, and marketing teams to convert complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation including instruction manuals, quick start guides, product documentation, and technical reference materials. The position ensures documentation quality, consistency, compliance with style guides, and alignment with global documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Documentation Development

  • Author and maintain:

    • Instruction Manuals

    • User Guides

    • Quick Start Guides

    • Product Documentation

    • Technical Reference Documents

    • Installation Guides

    • Operating Instructions

  • Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and user-focused.

  • Translate complex engineering concepts into understandable content.

Content Creation & Information Management

  • Collect, analyze, verify, and organize technical information.

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather product knowledge.

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of technical content.

  • Maintain version-controlled documentation.

Documentation Quality & Standards

  • Apply:

    • Documentation Standards

    • Authoring Guidelines

    • Style Guides

    • Documentation Checklists

  • Ensure consistency in terminology, format, structure, and presentation.

  • Review and improve existing documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:

    • Product Managers

    • Engineers

    • Service Teams

    • Marketing Teams

    • Technical Authors

    • Global Documentation Teams

  • Identify documentation gaps and develop required content.

  • Align documentation priorities with global teams.

Template & Publishing Management

  • Create and maintain documentation templates.

  • Publish documentation using approved tools and processes.

  • Ensure consistent look and feel across all documentation deliverables.

Review & Quality Assurance

  • Review content created by other writers.

  • Ensure correct language usage, grammar, style, and technical accuracy.

  • Support continuous improvement of documentation processes.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    OR

  • Master's Degree in Engineering

Experience

  • 3+ years of Technical Writing experience.

  • Experience creating product and engineering documentation.

  • Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
