Overview:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Unity Lab Services as a Lead Lab Support Specialist, where you'll guide a small onsite team to deliver consistent lab support services. Your work enables breakthrough research by managing daily workflows and enhancing customer lab operations in a regulated, GMP environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily operations of a cross-functional team.

  • Oversee lab services such as stockroom, procurement, chemical tracking, media/reagent prep, and glass wash.

  • Act as a primary liaison between customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

  • Implement and audit SOPs; drive process improvements through PPI initiatives.

  • Manage full employee lifecycle including training, evaluation, and development.

  • Support vendor escorting, customer visits, and safety initiatives.

  • Perform inventory, hazardous materials handling, and cold room operations.


Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in lab or logistics.

  • cGMP, IATA/DOT hazardous goods knowledge required.

  • ERP and inventory control systems experience a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Able to multitask, solve problems, and lead in a dynamic environment.


Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Lift/push/pull 30–50 lbs.

  • Stand/walk for long periods.

  • Work in cleanrooms, cold rooms (-22°F), and areas with strong odors or chemicals.

  • Use of PPE required (gloves, safety glasses, gowns, etc.).
