    Job Purpose

    The Lead Electrical (Project) will be responsible for ensuring timely execution of greenfield and brownfield projects, maintaining compliance with cost, quality, and safety norms. The role includes planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation for seamless site operations in alignment with regulatory approvals and industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Project Planning & Concept Development

    • Lead API Greenfield & Brownfield projects in the pharmaceutical sector.
    • Prepare business case, project charter, and concept notes.
    • Develop plant layouts and plan facility requirements.
    • Estimate costs, including operational expenses, for budget proposals.
    • Perform engineering calculations (power consumption, control transformer sizing, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) & IEC standards.

    2. Vendor & Regulatory Approvals

    • Obtain statutory and regulatory approvals at each project stage.
    • Evaluate and finalize consultants and vendors based on company specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with cGMP and quality assurance standards.

    3. Execution & Monitoring

    • Prepare URS, RDS, technical specifications, layouts, and risk assessments.
    • Develop project schedules, milestones, and bar charts.
    • Follow up with the purchase department for timely material procurement.
    • Oversee contractors and sub-contractors for scheduling and execution.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety norms in electrical works.

    4. Compliance & Quality Control

    • Monitor adherence to codes, best practices, QA/QC policies, and performance standards.
    • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs/SATs) to ensure industry-standard compliance.
    • Drive continuous improvements and automation initiatives in project execution.

    5. Communication & Handover

    • Provide timely project updates to stakeholders.
    • Conduct daily progress discussions with contractors.
    • Ensure GMP documentation for the engineering scope of work.
    • Successfully hand over completed projects to users, including inventory management.

    • Ensuring timely completion while maintaining cost and quality.
    • Managing multiple stakeholders, including site heads, finance, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Implementing automation while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

    • Safety Team: Ensuring safe operations and risk mitigation.
    • Site & Unit Heads: Regular project updates and approvals.
    • Purchasing & Finance: Vendor selection, cost approvals, and inventory planning.
    • OEMs & Consultants: Automation, vendor development, and technical clarifications.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Education:

    • B.E. Electrical (Mandatory)
    • MBA (Preferred)

    Experience:

    • 12-15 years of experience in electrical utilities, high-voltage substations, and automation in manufacturing.
    • Deep knowledge of CAPEX, OPEX, and financial planning.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Project Management for large-scale electrical projects.
    • Technical expertise in electrical utilities and automation.
    • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge (NEC, IEC, GMP, cGMP).
