Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer (Elluminate) to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced clinical data review, analytics, and visualization solutions for global clinical trials.

This role will focus on developing data cleaning reports, study metrics, listings, visualizations, and automated data review solutions that support data quality, study oversight, and clinical decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Clinical Data Management, Data Engineering, Medical Reviewers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality clinical trial data.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Review & Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain clinical data review reports and dashboards.

  • Create data cleaning reports that support study-specific and standard data review plans.

  • Develop study status metrics, operational reports, and monitoring visualizations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of reporting outputs throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.

Data Cleaning & Quality Management

  • Develop automated data cleaning solutions to improve data quality and consistency.

  • Create and maintain reusable edit checks and validation rules.

  • Support data review activities by identifying discrepancies, trends, and potential data quality issues.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Data Management teams to implement effective data cleaning strategies.

Elluminate Report Development

  • Design and develop reports and visualizations using Elluminate.

  • Build customized reporting solutions that support study oversight and data review requirements.

  • Enhance existing reporting tools and develop innovative reporting capabilities.

  • Optimize reporting performance and usability for study teams.

Programming & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain listings, reports, and analytical outputs using programming languages and reporting tools.

  • Create and test data review listings for clinical trial datasets.

  • Support advanced analytics and visualization initiatives.

  • Ensure programming deliverables meet quality standards and project timelines.

Reusable Check Library Development

  • Work closely with Data Engineers and Configuration Specialists to develop reusable automated check libraries.

  • Standardize business rules across therapeutic areas.

  • Support the implementation of scalable and reusable clinical data review solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:

    • Clinical Data Management Teams

    • Medical Reviewers

    • Data Engineers

    • Biostatistics Teams

    • Clinical Operations Teams

    • Study Teams

  • Collaborate on data review plans, business rules, and reporting requirements.

  • Support operational excellence through standardized reporting and analytics practices.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create and maintain technical and functional documentation for all reporting deliverables.

  • Ensure reporting solutions comply with:

    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    • Regulatory Requirements

    • Clinical Data Standards

  • Maintain audit-ready documentation throughout study execution.

Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

  • Serve as a technical resource for clinical data review reporting and analytics.

  • Mentor team members on reporting tools and best practices.

  • Support knowledge development and continuous learning initiatives across teams.

Innovation & Process Improvement

  • Develop innovative reporting and analytics solutions that improve efficiency and data quality.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of reporting tools, libraries, macros, and automation frameworks.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Clinical Data Science and Data Management functions.


Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Computer Science

  • Statistics

  • Biostatistics

  • Mathematics

  • Life Sciences

  • Biology

  • Health Sciences

  • Related Scientific or Technical Field

Equivalent industry experience may also be considered.


Experience

Required

  • Experience in Clinical Data Management, Clinical Data Science, or Clinical Data Programming.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing clinical listings, reports, dashboards, or visualizations.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following platforms:

    • Elluminate

    • Veeva CDB

    • JReview

Preferred

  • Strong experience with Elluminate report development.

  • Experience supporting global clinical trials.

  • Experience working with automated data review solutions and data cleaning frameworks.
