🌟 About the Role
Labcorp is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for the Histology/IHC department. This leadership role involves overseeing daily lab operations, supervising staff, maintaining compliance with regulations, and ensuring high-quality lab testing.
🕒 Work Schedule
Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
💼 Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations of the Histology Department
Ensure accurate laboratory tests and timely reporting of results
Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel
Monitor daily workflow and ensure adequate assay coverage
Ensure proper staffing for all shifts in the department
Research and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary
Engage in continuous process and service improvements
Maintain and monitor Quality Control of all equipment
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentation
Evaluate and recommend new process improvements
Meet with direct reports for coaching and feedback
Perform bench work as needed and maintain technical proficiency
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Administer and manage department policies and procedures
Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
Perform additional administrative duties as required
🎓 Requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Histotechnologist (post-degree) with:
Bachelor’s degree (or)
2 years with a Master’s degree (or)
1 year with a PhD
Previous supervisor/leadership experience preferred
HT/HTL - ASCP certification preferred
Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations
Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures
Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to make decisions in a changing environment
Able to meet physical requirements of the position
