About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Laboratory Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations at our Indian facility. The role involves specimen handling, sample preparation, and assisting across laboratory departments while ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety standards, and Biomedical Waste (BMW) management protocols. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on laboratory experience and a strong understanding of standard laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • Operate centrifuges and other laboratory equipment according to standard protocols.

  • Collect, receive, and document specimens, ensuring sample adequacy and adherence to rejection criteria.

  • Prepare specimens and samples and distribute them to respective laboratory departments.

  • Assist other laboratory departments as required.

  • Follow Biomedical Waste (BMW) management protocols strictly.

General Duties:

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and company data.

  • Assign laboratory numbers and perform clerical and technical tasks in line with sample handling procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.

  • Participate in departmental audits and quality assurance activities.

  • Comply with health, safety, and fire regulations; understand employee responsibilities in this context.

  • Attend laboratory meetings and actively participate in workflow discussions.

  • Execute assigned tasks efficiently, adhering to quality management systems and SOPs.

  • Communicate professionally, maintaining a friendly and cooperative approach with staff, clients, and customers.

  • Abide by laboratory rules and codes of conduct, maintaining professionalism at all times.

  • Receive training and only perform tasks once confident in proper execution.

  • Maintain high standards of laboratory work and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the HOD or Laboratory Manager.

  • Participate in annual management review activities.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical or diagnostic laboratory is preferred.

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge across multiple laboratory departments.

  • Familiarity with standard laboratory protocols, equipment handling, and sample processing.

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with initiative.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
