Role Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a scientific expert and trusted partner for healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and healthcare institutions. The role focuses on scientific exchange, medical education, evidence-based discussions, and supporting the appropriate use of BMS therapies.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.

  • Conduct scientific discussions on disease management, clinical evidence, BMS products, and HEOR data.

  • Address unsolicited medical and scientific queries.

Medical Strategy Execution

  • Develop and implement territory medical plans.

  • Execute field medical activities aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Support cross-functional account and institution plans.

Medical Insights

  • Assess the medical landscape and identify unmet needs.

  • Gather and communicate actionable insights to internal teams.

  • Monitor scientific developments and competitor activities.

Clinical Trial Support

  • Support investigator-initiated and company-sponsored studies.

  • Assist with site identification and feasibility assessments.

  • Facilitate interactions related to clinical research activities.

Internal Medical Support

  • Provide scientific training and updates to internal stakeholders.

  • Support medical education programs and scientific meetings.

  • Deliver unbiased scientific and clinical information.

Pharmacovigilance

  • Report adverse events and safety information according to company procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance requirements.

Patient Advocacy

  • Support patient education initiatives.

  • Collaborate with patient advocacy organizations.

  • Assist in developing patient education materials.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Oncology and Haematology.

  • Knowledge of clinical research and trial design.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate scientific literature.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Experience building peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals.

  • Understanding of the Indian healthcare system and access environment.

  • Knowledge of HEOR concepts is an advantage.

Travel Requirement

  • Field-based role with approximately 60–70% time spent in customer-facing activities and travel.

Ideal Candidate

A physician (MBBS + MD) with 2–5 years of Medical Affairs/MSL experience, strong scientific communication skills, Oncology/Haematology expertise, and the ability to engage effectively with KOLs and healthcare professionals.
