Job Description

Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Haematology & Oncology for a field-based role in Delhi. The MSL serves as a scientific expert and trusted medical partner, engaging with healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and key stakeholders to advance scientific knowledge, support patient access, and ensure the appropriate use of BMS therapies. This position requires extensive field engagement, with approximately 60–70% of time spent interacting with external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and access stakeholders.

  • Conduct scientific discussions on disease management, clinical data, BMS products, and health economics outcomes research (HEOR).

  • Respond to unsolicited scientific and product-related inquiries in a compliant and balanced manner.

  • Deliver scientific presentations, one-on-one interactions, and group educational sessions.

  • Develop and execute medical engagement plans for key accounts including Army, Railways, CGHS, and other healthcare institutions.

Medical Strategy & Insights

  • Assess the medical landscape and identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and scientific opportunities.

  • Gather and communicate medical insights to internal medical and commercial teams.

  • Contribute to territory medical plans aligned with therapeutic area strategies.

  • Support the development and execution of scientific programs and medical projects.

Clinical Trial Support

  • Support interventional and non-interventional research studies.

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential clinical trial sites.

  • Provide recommendations on study feasibility and investigator engagement.

  • Support investigator-sponsored research (ISR) processes and site interactions.

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance requirements and adverse event reporting procedures.

Internal Medical Support

  • Provide scientific training and disease-area updates to internal stakeholders.

  • Support promotional meetings with unbiased scientific and clinical information.

  • Collaborate with Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Market Access, and HEOR teams.

Patient Advocacy Support

  • Support implementation of patient education initiatives.

  • Collaborate with patient advocacy groups on awareness and educational programs.

  • Assist in developing patient education materials.


Required Qualifications

  • MBBS or MD degree from a recognized institution.

  • 2–5 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Field Medical roles.

  • Experience in Oncology and/or Haematology therapeutic areas preferred.


Required Skills

  • Strong scientific and clinical knowledge in Oncology and Haematology.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to build peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

  • Understanding of clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, market access, and treatment pathways.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data effectively.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

  • Knowledge of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) concepts is an added advantage.

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
