Group Lead – Clinical Data Science (Bengaluru/Chennai/Trivandrum)
Job Summary:
ICON plc, a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, is hiring a Group Lead, Clinical Data Science in Bengaluru, Chennai, or Trivandrum. This leadership position is ideal for professionals with strong clinical data management expertise and proven experience managing cross-functional teams. As a Group Lead, you will be instrumental in overseeing data teams, ensuring GCP and ICH compliance, driving process improvements, and managing timelines across complex global clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead local clinical data management teams and allocate resources effectively.
Oversee compliance with GCP, ICH, and applicable regulatory standards.
Ensure timely training, course completions, and performance appraisals.
Mentor and support team members and Team Leads across clinical data functions.
Manage administrative tasks including time-sheets, leaves, and internal training records.
Drive process improvement and contribute to strategic clinical data initiatives.
Represent Data Management during internal, sponsor, and regulatory audits.
Deliver internal/external presentations and engage in cross-site project management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
Proven experience in clinical data management with leadership exposure.
Prior experience with at least one CDMS such as Medidata Rave, INFORM, or Oracle Clinical (OCRDC).
Experience managing Team Leads or senior clinical data professionals preferred.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of ICH-GCP, clinical operations, and sponsor expectations.
